KarateShowCase.com (the "Platform") is operated by KarateShowCase LLC. Everyone who creates an account on the Platform, or sets up a dojo on it, accepts this waiver together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and we keep a record of the version accepted and when.
By accepting it, I acknowledge and agree to the following:
I understand that karate and martial arts training and competition involve inherent risks of physical injury. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in any training, practice, competition, or event referenced on or facilitated through the Platform.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I, on behalf of myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, release, waive, and forever discharge KarateShowCase LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, or damages of any kind — including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, emotional distress, or death — arising out of or in connection with my use of the Platform, participation in any event, or any interaction with other users. No dojo, and no one acting for a dojo as its owner, instructor, coach, administrator or other personnel, is a Released Party in that capacity, including where the dojo uses a template or starter wording that KarateShowCase provides.
Photos, videos and other media on the Platform are governed by the Platform’s Content & Media Consent Policy. Whoever uploads media confirms that they have the right to share it; what other users can see follows each profile’s privacy settings; and a parent or guardian may ask for media of their child to be removed at any time. Content is displayed as the privacy settings in force allow, and I release the Released Parties from claims arising from that display. This waiver grants no permission beyond that policy: promotional use of a minor’s image requires a parent’s or guardian’s separate, explicit consent.
I understand that while reasonable measures are taken to protect user data, no online platform can guarantee absolute security. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Released Parties are not liable for any data breach, unauthorized access, data loss, or security incident. I provide my information voluntarily and at my own risk.
The Platform does not provide medical, legal, tax, insurance, or other professional advice, or professional coaching advice. All rules references, training information, and competition guidance are for informational purposes only.
If I am creating an account on behalf of a minor, I represent that I am the parent or legal guardian and I agree to these terms on their behalf, accepting full responsibility.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, liabilities, expenses, or legal fees arising from my use of the Platform, my violation of these terms, or any content I upload.
This waiver is governed by the same law as the Terms of Service (Section 12 of the Terms).
This waiver is part of, and is read together with, the Platform’s Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Content & Media Consent Policy; it does not replace them. It also does not replace any waiver, release or agreement I sign with my dojo, which is between me and my dojo — each dojo is responsible for its own documents and for the laws that apply to it. Nothing in this waiver excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.
