Classes and the calendar

For Dojo owners and administrators, Coaches

In short

Weekly classes are set up in the admin console under Schedule, then Classes, with Add a class: name, days, start time, length and the date it starts. They show on the calendars of signed-in members and staff, not on the public one, and need the Classes & Attendance add-on, which new dojos have on by default. One-off events, tournaments and repeating events go on Schedule, then Calendar, with + New event.

Where to find it: Admin console → Schedule → Classes

Classes

Owners, administrators and lead coaches manage classes. Classes need the Classes & Attendance add-on, which new dojos have on by default.

  1. Open Admin console → Schedule → Classes and press Add a class.
  2. Give it a Class name, the Days it runs, a Start time, how many Minutes, and the date it Runs from. Runs until is optional: leave it empty for a class with no end date. Instructor, location, age group and programme are optional too.
  3. Leave Attending this class counts toward a belt ticked unless it should not count.
  4. To skip a date — a holiday, say — add it under Cancelled dates.

Classes appear on the calendars of signed-in members and staff as Class entries, never on the public calendar; you change them here, never on the calendar. Archive a class you no longer teach to keep its history; Delete removes it.

The calendar

Owners, administrators and lead coaches add events in the console.

  1. Open Admin console → Schedule → Calendar and press + New event.
  2. Give it a title and a type (Practice, Tournament, Team or Other), a date, and optionally an end date, times, a location and details. Leave both times empty for an all-day event.
  3. To repeat it, choose Weekly, the days, and Until.

When you change one date of a repeating event, Apply changes to offers This date only or This and following. Deleting asks first and names anything linked to it.

Good to know

  • Each event's colour comes from its type.
  • A tournament is one event; give it an end date if it runs over several days.
  • To make sure everyone notices an event, post a site message. See Your dojo's website.
