Make your dojo private with a Team Access Code

For Dojo owners and administrators, Students and families

In short

A private dojo shows strangers a page asking for its Team Access Code. Set the code in the admin console under Settings, then Access, then switch the dojo to Private. Members sign in as usual and are never asked for the code. Without it, a visitor still sees what is coming up on the dojo's calendar — each item's title, type, dates, times and place — and can sign in, ask to join, send the dojo a message and use its Kumite Clock; a visitor who enters the code can see the calendar, events and rules for 12 hours, but never your competitors, results, comments or contact details.

Where to find it: Admin console → Settings → Access

Making your dojo private

Owners and administrators change access.

  1. Open Admin console → Settings → Access.
  2. Enter an Access code (4 to 64 characters; capitals, spaces and dashes are ignored) and press Set Code.
  3. Under Who can see this dojo, choose Private — A code is required.

Public — Anyone with the link opens it again. End All Guest Sessions signs out everyone who entered the code.

What a visitor sees without the code

Your dojo's name on a page asking for the code, and beneath it what is coming up on your calendar — each item's title, type, dates, times and place, and nothing else of it — a form to send you a message and a link to your Kumite Clock. A visitor can sign in, reset a password and ask to join. Everything else waits for the code, or for a member's sign-in.

What a visitor with the code sees

The calendar, events, tournaments, seminars and rules — for 12 hours. Never your competitors, results, comments or contact details. A code is not a membership: the dojo adds members by invitation.

For a visitor

Enter the code your team shared on the dojo's page. If you are on the team, sign in instead — you do not need a code. After too many wrong codes, wait an hour. To join, ask the dojo for an invitation from the same page.
