Join your dojo and create your account
For Students and families
In short
On your dojo's page, press Join, fill in the Sign Up form and press Create Account. We email you a link to verify your address; once you have opened it, open your dojo's page signed in (or press I verified — refresh) and you are a member, with no approval step. If your dojo sent you an invitation, open its link instead: it sets up your account and joins you in one go.
Signing up
- On your dojo's page, press Join.
- Fill in Full Name, your Email, and a Password of at least six characters. If you hold a rank from another school, you can say so; your instructors confirm it.
- Agree to the Waiver, Terms and Privacy Policy, and confirm you are at least 13 (and, under 18, have a parent or guardian's permission).
- Press Create Account.
We email you a link to verify your address. Open it — on this device or another — then open your dojo's page signed in, and you are a member of the dojo. If you stayed on the page, I verified — refresh carries on; Resend verification sends the email again after a minute.
With an invitation
Open the link in the email "You're invited to join" your dojo, and press Create your account or I already have an account. The email address is fixed to the one invited, and opening the link from that email also verifies it. The link works once and expires.
If your dojo invited you as a student's parent or guardian, or for your own student record, you are connected to that record when you open the link in that email, signed in. A link your dojo passed on another way lets you join; to be connected, open the one in the email. If you joined before opening it, open it afterwards: it still connects you while it is valid.
Children under 13
Children under 13 do not have their own accounts. A parent or guardian uses their own account, linked to the child's record by the dojo — or, at a dojo with a plan open to new members, the parent adds their child when they enrol, and is linked as the child's parent. A second child is added the same way, from Add another athlete on My Dashboard.
When joining is not open
- A private dojo — one behind a Team Access Code — adds members only by invitation: press Ask for an invitation on its Sign Up form, or send it a message from its page. See Make your dojo private with a Team Access Code.
- A membership the dojo ended cannot be restarted by signing up again; ask the dojo.
