Texts from your dojo
For Students and families, Coaches, Dojo owners and administrators
In short
If your dojo offers texts, open My account from your account menu, find the texts section with your dojo's name, enter your mobile number, tick the box and choose Text me a code. Enter the code from the text and choose Turn on texts. Your dojo then texts you about classes, schedule changes and cancellations, events and your membership. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop them, or choose Turn off texts in your account. Reply HELP for help. If you text your dojo's number yourself, the dojo can reply to you for 24 hours after your last text.
Where to find it: your account menu → My account
Turning texts on
Texts are something your dojo chooses to offer. If it does:
- Open your account menu → My account.
- Find the texts section with your dojo's name, and enter your mobile number.
- Tick the box, which reads: "Yes, send me texts from (the name of your dojo) about classes, events and my membership. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop or HELP for help."
- Choose Text me a code. A text with a six-digit code arrives at that number.
- Enter the code and choose Turn on texts. One more text confirms that texts are on.
The code confirms the number before anything else is sent to it. It works for 10 minutes; if it doesn't arrive, choose Send a new code. If a code reaches you that you didn't ask for, ignore it: nothing more is sent because of it.
Agreeing is optional. Your dojo texts you about its classes, schedule changes and cancellations, events and tournaments, and your membership. It may not use texts for offers or other marketing.
If you text your dojo's number yourself, the dojo can reply to you for 24 hours after your last text. Texting it doesn't turn its other texts on.
Stopping texts, and starting them again
- Reply STOP to any text. You get one text confirming it, and no more from that sender.
- Or choose Turn off texts in your account menu → My account.
- Texts you didn't agree to, say to a number that used to be someone else's, stop the same way: reply STOP.
To start them again after replying STOP, text START to your dojo's number from that phone; nobody can restart them for you. If you turned them off in your account, choose Turn texts back on there, and enter the new code.
For help, reply HELP, or contact your dojo or info@KarateShowCase.com.
Children
When an athlete has a linked parent or guardian, a dojo does not text a number given for texts in an account linked to that athlete’s record, apart from the automatic answers to keywords such as STOP, START and HELP, and its group texts reach the parent or guardian instead. A number given in an account the dojo has not linked to an athlete’s record is texted as its holder agreed, so a parent can ask the dojo to link their child’s account. Any other number that texts a dojo, a child’s included, can be answered for 24 hours, unless texts to it have been stopped
Your number and your privacy
We do not sell, rent or share mobile information, meaning your mobile number and your text-message opt-in and consent, with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes.
Deleting your account deletes the number on it, and texts sent to it because of your account stop. The Privacy Policy says what is kept and for how long, and the Terms of Service set out how texts work.
