Add a match video
For Students and families, Coaches
In short
Open the athlete's profile, then Matches, and press + Add Match Video, or use Add a tournament video on My Dashboard. Choose the tournament, the date and event type, paste the YouTube link, and choose who can watch: your team, or coaches only. The athlete, their parent or guardian, and the dojo's staff can add matches.
Adding a match
- On the athlete's profile, open Matches and press + Add Match Video. On My Dashboard, My videos has Add a tournament video.
- Choose the Tournament, or Add a new tournament.
- Add the Match date, the Event Type (Kumite or Kata) and the Division.
- Paste the YouTube Video URL. For kumite, add the scores and the opponent's name.
- Choose Who can watch this match?: My team (your dojo's team and coaches) or Coaches only (you, your parents or guardians, and your coaches).
- Press Add Match.
A match holds a link to the video, so the video itself stays on YouTube, or wherever it was posted.
Who can add and change matches
The athlete, a parent or guardian linked to them, and the dojo's staff. Edit Match and Delete Match are on the match. Once anyone has commented on a match — a coach, the athlete or a parent — its video link is fixed, and Delete Match becomes Archive Match, so the conversation stays on the record.
Coaching notes
Coaches leave notes pinned to moments in the video, and you can reply. See Review match videos and leave coaching notes.
