Kumite rules and divisions

In short

In the admin console, open Competition, then Rules & divisions. Under Kumite Rules, tick the rulesets your coaches use, choose the one the Kumite Clock opens on, and press Save choices; you can also make your own ruleset from a platform preset with New ruleset. Division Bands lists the age, rank and weight bands your dojo enters, offered as suggestions on division fields.

Kumite rules

Owners and administrators decide the rules; coaches use them.

  1. Open Admin console → Competition → Rules & divisions.
  2. Under What your coaches use, tick the rulesets your coaches may use, choose The Kumite Clock opens on, and choose which two your Rules page compares.
  3. Press Save choices. Your Rules page uses them at once; a clock that is already open picks them up when it is reloaded. The Kumite Clock opens on is what a device uses the first time — after that, each device remembers the ruleset it last used.

The platform's presets are AAU Shobu Sanbon, AAU Shobu Ippon, WKF and NKF (USA Karate). Under Your dojo's rulesets, pick a platform preset in the drop-down and press New ruleset to make one of your own (with nothing picked, it starts from the default preset); each save is a new version. Removing a ruleset deletes it and its versions.

Division bands

Under Division Bands, add each band your dojo enters (for example "12-13", "Cadet" or "-55kg") and press Save Bands. They appear as suggestions wherever a division is entered. Owners, administrators and lead coaches can change them.
