Who can see your information
For Students and families, Coaches, Dojo owners and administrators
In short
Nothing about you is visible to the general internet unless you or your dojo's administrator set it up that way. Inside your dojo, your coaches and administrators see your athlete profile, matches and coaching notes, as can a coach from outside the dojo whom KarateShowCase has given access to your dojo, or assigned to you. Each match video has its own setting: My team shows it to your dojo's team and coaches; Coaches only shows it to you, your parents or guardians and your coaches. Coaching notes are never shown to teammates. You can hide your athlete profile from your teammates at any time, and your coaches can still see it.
What the Privacy Policy says
Your content is not publicly visible to the general internet unless you or your administrator explicitly configure it to be, and you can hide your athlete profile from your team's roster at any time.
Inside your dojo
- You see your own profile, videos and the coaching notes on your matches.
- A parent or guardian linked to an athlete's record can see and manage that athlete's profile and photo.
- Coaches see athlete profiles, match videos and coaching notes within their own dojo.
- A coach from outside the dojo sees what they need to coach, including coaching notes. KarateShowCase gives that access: to one athlete, or to a whole dojo, which covers every athlete there.
- Lead coaches run the dojo's day-to-day work — members, roster, attendance and documents — but never see what a family has been charged or has paid.
- Administrators see and manage their dojo's data and memberships, but cannot edit an athlete's own photo, bio or goals.
- Teammates see a match video only when it is shared with My team, and never see coaching notes. Students and parents on the competition team see teammates' profiles unless a profile is hidden.
Each match video's own setting
When a match is added, Who can watch this match? decides who sees it: My team (your dojo's team and coaches) or Coaches only (you, your parents or guardians, and your coaches). See Add a match video.
Hiding your profile
On your athlete profile, choose to hide your profile from other competitors. A hidden profile, and its matches, are hidden from the other members of the dojo; your coaches and the dojo's administrators can still see it, so your coaching carries on. You can switch it back at any time.
KarateShowCase staff
Platform staff — can access account and operational data as needed for support and moderation. Private coaching notes are deliberately excluded from every support and moderation surface the Platform provides: within the product they are readable only inside your own dojo and by a coach from outside it whom the Platform has given access to you or to your dojo (above), and platform staff do not access them in the ordinary course of operating the Platform
Good to know
- Date of birth is optional and private: only the athlete, a linked parent or guardian, and the dojo's administrators and lead coach can see it, and it never appears on a profile.
